In this new blog post we look at the Luo Han Guo Fruit. The Luo Han Guo is a perennial vine native to southern China and Northern Thailand and best known for its fruit. The Luo Han Guo Fruit like the goji berry is one of several that have been called the longevity fruit.

The vine of the Luo Han Guo grows to 9 to 16 feet long, climbing over other plants by means of tendrils which twine round anything they touch. The narrow, heart-shaped leaves are 4- 8 inches long. The fruit is round, almost 3 inches in diameter, and contains a sweet, fleshy, edible pulp and many seeds.
The Luo Han Guo plant is rarely found in the wild today as it has been cultivated for hundreds of years in China’s mountainous regions.

The main health benefits of the luo han guo come mainly from the mogrosides, a group of Triterpene-Glycosides which function as a unique and special antioxidant. These mogrosides, are also what gives the Luo Han Guo its very sweet flavor.

In this new blog post we look at the Longan fruit. Longan grows on a tree native to Southern China. The Longan tree can grow up to 60 feet in height. It is considered a nutritional powerhouse and one of the 21 super fruits – foods – herbs in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic.

The longan is often referred to as a (”dragon eye”). It is so named because its fruit, when it is shelled, resembles an eyeball (the black seed shows through the translucent flesh like a pupil/iris.) It is used in Chinese herbal medicine.

Longan contains several compounds, including valuable ellagic acid, that bestow antioxidant and cellprotective effects.

Longan is also rich in a number of vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, and is rich in vitamins A, B-Complex, Niacin, Calcium, Phosphorous and Vitamin C. Today we look at the lychee fruit a nutritional powerhouse and one of the 21 super fruits – foods in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic. A lychee is a rare sub tropical fruit originating about 2000 years ago in Southern China.

Today we look at the blueberry a nutritional powerhouse and one of the 21 super fruits – foods in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic.

Blueberries typically grow in northern climates like Maine. Blueberry bushes bear fruit from May through June although the growing altitude and latitude will affect when the bushes will bear fruit.

Blueberries are packed with a wide range of micronutrients, with notably high levels of the essential dietary mineral manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K and dietary fiber. In today’s venture at looking at each of the 21 super fruits – foods in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic we take a look at cranberries. We normally think of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners when we think of cranberries. More than just something to serve at Thanksgiving cranberries, are a nutritional powerhouse as we shall see. Just one more nutrient that shows why Jule of the Orient truly is such an outstanding product.

Ask anyone you can think of what is the most popular berry juice for health? You’re likely to be told that cranberry juice is the answer.

The cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon L.) is a cousin of the blueberry and huckleberry and bilberry. Cranberries are a major commercial crop in certain Northern American states and Canadian provinces in a swampy bog environment.
Native peoples used cranberries as food, in ceremonies and medicinally. Revolutionary War veteran Henry Hall planted the first commercial cranberry beds in Massachusetts way back in 1816.
The majority of cranberries are harvested between September and October.
