I watched the movie Julie and Julia tonight with my wife Jean. The movie is about the famous TV cook and writer Julia Child. My memories of watching Julia Child on TV as a kid was one of being amused and entertained by how she talked, more so than anything about the cooking.
Watching the movie gave me a new undiscovered appreciation of Julia Child. What I found so fascinating and refreshing was Child’s unbridled enthusiasm for what she loved cooking. I was also impressed by how upbeat she constantly remained. It seemed as if nothing could quench her joyful spirit. There are not enough people in this world who can look adversity and disappointment in the face and just laugh. I found a new found respect and admiration for Julia Child as she battled against the grain to do what she loved bring French Cooking to all Americans. In the late 1940’s the Cordon Bleu (French for blue ribbon) cooking school she attended was dominated by all males.
As someone who loved French Cooking she had a passion to make that cooking available to the typical American household.
Another point – Julia Child lived to the age of 92 – dying in 2004 and yet she smoked and was a little overweight. I believe her upbeat lifestyle and doing what she loved paid a big role in her long life. I would be interested in seeing a study of the life spans of people who do what they love versus those engaged in jobs they hate.
Just as Julia Child believed French Cooking was unparalleled any where in the world, so I believe the Freelife nutritional products standout as unsurpassed.
I’ve been working with and marketing nutritional products for 15 years. And I absolutely believe the following:
The Freelife TAIslim Weight loss product is in my opinion the best weight loss product on the market. Which is especially need if you find yourself eating too many of Julia Child’s recipes.
The new Jule of the Orient is the best herbal (jiaogulan) tonic and may be the best overall nutritional product I’ve ever experienced.
The Himalayan Goji – Gochi Juice is I believe the best of the group of juice products (acai berry, noni, mangosteen, etc).
If you haven’t seen it I think you might enjoy seeing Julie and Julia. Meryl Streep is brilliant in her role as Julia Child, which is especially hard to do when you can easily compare her to the real Julia Child on TV.
