In this new blog post we look at the Japanese Sophora Bud. The Japanese Sophora Bud comes from the Japanese Pagoda Tree or Chinese Scholar Tree and is A native of China. This medium sized tree grows to 65 feet in height, usually with a broad round crown.
The Japanese Sophora Bud is considered a nutritional powerhouse and one of the 21 super fruits – foods – herbs in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic.

It has been introduced into Japan where you see it planted around Buddhist temples because of its showy flowers. It has also become quite popular with landscapers in many parts of the United States, especially in the South. The very distinctive fruits grow in long yellowish pods, which have the appearance of a short string of pearls.
The Japanese Sophora Bud is considered the world’s richest source of the flavonoid quercetin, a powerful antioxidant. This is because it is very rich in rutin which is converted to quercetin in the body.
Rutin is a member of the flavonoid family of plant chemicals, which have been credited with a wide range of health-promoting advantages.
Rutin is a combination of just two chemicals, quercetin and rutinose, and it is found in many plants, also including buckwheat, tea and apples. Both quercetin and rutinose are strong antioxidants which are effective against inflammation, and protect against cell damage and blood circulation problems largely because if its powerful antioxidant properties.
Rutin works well together with vitamin C.
An additional benefit of rutin is that it helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels in your blood, resulting in better circulation. It also supports the immune system.

FreeLife® made headlines back at the end of 2003 with the introduction of their Himalayan Goji® Juice product.

This healthy and delicious functional beverage started the goji revolution. Now more than 6 years later, Himalayan Goji (Gochi) Juice is still making headlines, because of exciting new research showing even greater promise for optimal health and wellness.
On February 1, 2010, London’s very well respected Daily Express newspaper reported the results of Australian research studying the effects of ultraviolet rays on mice. It is well known that overexposure to the sun’s UV rays can suppress immunity, and that is what makes sun worshippers more susceptible to skin cancer. In this study University of Sydney researchers set out to see if goji, a known immune enhancer, might be able to counteract the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation.
Let’s take a look at the results of the study.
The mice in the study were divided into two groups: the “Goji Group” was given Himalayan Goji Juice mixed into their drinking water; and the “Control Group” received either apple or pear juice in their drinking water. After UV exposure, the mice in the Control Group developed sunburn, which was accompanied by inflammation and edema (swelling and fluid retention) just like you would have if you had been a bit careless about sunbathing without enough sunscreen.
Let’s examine what happened to the mice in the Goji Group? As reported in the Express article, “the inflammatory sunburn reaction was strongly reduced.” And this was with just 5 percent goji juice mixed into their water!
According to lead researcher (and FreeLife Scientific Advisory Board member) Dr. Vivienne Reeve, goji’s action is two-fold. It protects against decreased immune response, and it (the goji) also increases the body’s antioxidant power so that it is better able to mop up the dangerous free radicals that are generated after UV exposure.
Dr. Reeve’s groundbreaking study will be published in the upcoming issue of the respected peer-reviewed journal Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences, a publication of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Animal studies cannot guarantee identical results in humans, but they are an important first step. Dr. Reeve believes that “goji berry juice might prove useful in susceptible humans.”

The Chinese herb jiaogulan has attracted the interest of scientists ecause of its demonstrated ability to increase microcirculation in in vitro laboratory studies. According to noted pathologist and medical professor Dr. Jialiu Liu, jiaogulan’s circulation-enhancing effects result from increased nitric oxide release in the capillaries, which is mediated by bioactive jiaogulan compounds known as gypenoside saponins.

To test the microcirculation-enhancing abilities of jiaogulan in vivo in humans, FreeLife scientists chose to study Jule of the Orient™, a proprietary gypenoside-standardized tonic derived from fullspectrum, whole-plant jiaogulan. In the study, subjects received a single dose of two ounces (60 ml) of Jule, and changes in peripheral circulation in the hands were tracked using an advanced laser Doppler scanner. Statistical analysis showed that Jule significantly increased circulation by as much as 60 percent over baseline level, and that microcirculation was still improved over baseline even six hours after intake.†

Jule of the Orient patent pending and clinically tested tonic is based on jiaogulan, an Asian rainforest herb whose traditional use is backed by more than 300 scientific research papers attesting to profound and diverse health and wellness benefits unprecedented by any plant in nature. Studies on Jule have shown metabolic energy enhancement 16 times greater than ordinary jiaogulan. Ongoing research has also shown significant improvements in microcirculation, which is vital for the proper nutrition of each of the body’s 10 trillion cells.

In this new blog post we look at the fruit Camu Camu. Camu camu is a red/purple cherry from the Amazon Rainforest. It is considered a nutritional powerhouse and one of the 21 super fruits – foods – herbs in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic.

Camu-Camu is one of the most important nutritional supplements that you can take.
Other names for Camu-camu are rumberry, guavaberry, mirto, murta, guayabillo, coco-carette, merisier-cerise, bois de basse batard, cabo de chivo, escobillo, mije, mije colorado, and mijo.

In today’s venture at looking at each of the 21 super fruits – foods in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic we take a look at cranberries. We normally think of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners when we think of cranberries. More than just something to serve at Thanksgiving cranberries, are a nutritional powerhouse as we shall see. Just one more nutrient that shows why Jule of the Orient truly is such an outstanding product.

Ask anyone you can think of what is the most popular berry juice for health? You’re likely to be told that cranberry juice is the answer.
The cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon L.) is a cousin of the blueberry and huckleberry and bilberry. Cranberries are a major commercial crop in certain Northern American states and Canadian provinces in a swampy bog environment.
Native peoples used cranberries as food, in ceremonies and medicinally. Revolutionary War veteran Henry Hall planted the first commercial cranberry beds in Massachusetts way back in 1816.
The majority of cranberries are harvested between September and October.
There has been a rapidly growing recognition of cranberries for their consumer product popularity, nutrient content and antioxidant qualities, giving them commercial status as a “superfruit”. But, by far the cranberry’s most popular application is its juice.
Cranberry’s benefits come in a variety of forms.
Cranberries contain bacteria-blocking compounds that are believed to be helpful in preventing urinary tract infections, and scientists now think this same function may be useful in blocking the bacteria responsible for ulcers and certain oral bacteria that can lead to gum problems.
There is no doubt cranberries are a healthy fruit. They contain no cholesterol and virtually no fat and are low in sodium. Various cranberry products may contain substantial levels of dietary fiber and certain vitamins, as well as a variety of phytochemicals that may be beneficial to health. Scientists believe that it is the combined actions of many different phytochemicals that contribute to the overall healthy effects, and cranberries are rich in these compounds.
Cranberries are a source of vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1 Thiamine, Vitamin B2 Riboflavin, Vitamin B2 Complex Niacin, dietary fiber and the essential dietary mineral, manganese, as well as a balanced profile of other essential micronutrients such as: Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Vitamin A,Vitamin K, Beta-Carotene, Lutein and zeaxanthin.
Cranberries are a source of polyphenol antioxidants, which provide benefits to the cardiovascular and immune system.

As I look at each of the 21 super fruits – nutrients in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic, I’m amazed at the interest in natural fruits and nutrition on various blogs and websites. Here we’re going to take a look at the cherry. The more I looked into the cherry the more I’ve become impressed with its nutritional value. I continue to find what I am discovering about each of the nutrients more and more fascinating. This Jule of the Orient truly is quite an outstanding product.

Everyone’s familiar with the cherry but did you know that the cherry was very high in antioxidants. Tart cherries, (as either dried, frozen, or cherry juice), have among the highest levels of very valuable antioxidants, as compared to other fruits. Cherries also contain important nutrients such as vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, iron, fiber and folate. Cherries are contain 19 times more beta carotene than blueberries or strawberries.
Cherries have a very high ORAC antioxidant score – here are some of the ORAC score levels for a serving of various types of cherries:
* Cherry Juice Concentrate: 12,800 ORAC units
* Dried Cherries: 6,800 ORAC units
* Frozen Cherries: 2,033 ORAC units
* Canned Cherries: 1,700 ORAC units
Cherries derive their much of their antioxidant power from the powerful anthocyanins contained in cherries. These anthocyanins provide the distinctive red color and may hold the key to the cheery’s many health benefits. The rich, red pigments that give cherries their color are a type of phytonutrient known as flavonoids, which have been linked to a variety of health benefits.
Scientific studies have shown that anthocyanins in cherries help the body to respond to inflammation by blocking the actions of cycloxygenase-1 and 2 enzymes.
Tart cherries especially, are exceptionally rich in many health promoting flavonoid poly phenolic anti-oxidants such as lutein, zeaxanthin and beta carotene. These antioxidant nutrients act as protective scavengers against harmful free radicals that play a role in aging.
Here is something I found surprising to learn. Cherries contain melatonin and are one of the very few foods that contain it. Melatonin is a potent antioxidant produced naturally by the body’s pineal gland that helps regulate biorhythm and natural sleep patterns. Eating cherries can help you get to sleep faster and also ease jet lag.
A University of Michigan study shows a cherry-enriched diet may help lower body fat (especially belly fat), reduce weight, and support heart health.
Cherries have also been shown to provide excellent joint health support.

Here’s a look at one more of the 21 super foods & fruits in the Freelife Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan tonic, In this case it’s the aronia berry (also called the chokeberry). I continue to find what I am discovering about each of the nutrients more and more fascinating. This truly is quite an outstanding product.

Native Americans in North America used the aronia berry for medicinal purposes, for making dyes for clothing, and for preserving meats and other foods.
Aronia berries are mainly known to have the highest level of antioxidants of any fruit. This translates to the aronia berry having an ORAC (oxygen radical absorptive capacity) score or value, which is higher than any other food.
Antioxidants work to reduce the damage caused by free radicals in the body. And ORAC is a measuring indicator of an antioxidant’s power to neutralize free radicals. However, keep in mind ORAC is only a measure of antioxidant potential in a test tube and doesn’t mean it will have the same effect in the human body. I’m certainly not saying all antioxidant products are like this, but the potential exists to create a product with a very high off the charts ORAC score and it would be nearly worthless as far an antioxidant capacity in the human body.
Also even if it is effective in the human body ORAC scores over a certain amount are worthless – the human body can only benefit from a certain ORAC score on a daily basis (About 5000 ORAC per day). Beyond that the human body can’t process the remaining amount.
The antioxidant power of the aronia berry is largely due to its high concentration of anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, both of which are largely responsible for the aronia berry’s dark, almost black, color.
Anthocyanins is a pigment that causes the red, blue or purple colour of plants, fruits, vegetables and flowers. Anthocyanins are flavonoids which help to keep arteries clear, so they are good for cardiovascular health.
The aronia berry also contains vitamins B2, B6, E, C and Folic Acid (another B-vitamin).
Studies have shown the aronia berry can benefit or support blood circulation, urinary tract health, heart health and gastrointestinal health.

The herb Jiaogulan has some pretty amazing health benefits documented in over 300 different studies. Here’s an interesting point, I saw a study using the the special blend of Jiaogulan developed by the Father of Jiaogulan Dr. Jialiu Liu.
This is the patent pending blend of the Herb Jiaojulan in Jule of the Orient. The results of the study showed this special blend about 60 times more effective than just drinking Jiaogulan tea. When you add the supernutrient base of 21 supernutrients contained in the Jule of the Orient herbal tonic the results were about 80 times more effective than just drinking Jiaogulan tea. That is pretty amazing.

One of the main benefits of of Jiaogulan and Jule of the Orient is in the area of weight control. It does this by it’s ability to increase metabolic rate and insulin response helping the body to use its own insulin better. In addition Jule of the Orient taken with TAIslim is producing even faster weight loss results.
