Schisandra berry
Its name in Chinese comes from the little known but interesting fact that its berries possess all five basic flavors: salty, sweet, sour, pungent (spicy), and bitter.

The Schisandra Berry is typically used as a tonic and an adaptogen plus it provides healthful benefits to the liver, lungs, blood, and kidneys..

This valuable berry contains Vitamins A, C and E along with compounds called lignans. The large amount of lignans found in schisandra berries are beneficial for liver support as well as for strengthening the immune system. Lignans basically help enzymes in the liver produce antioxidants in large amounts.

Schisandra berries function as an adaptogen similar to ginseng, though not as potent. They help reduce fatigue and increase body energy as well as being beneficial for the digestive system. They also possess anti-inflammatory properties.

Study Proves Jule of the Orient Jiaogulan Tonic Improves Micro-Circulation

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

The Chinese herb jiaogulan has attracted the interest of scientists ecause of its demonstrated ability to increase microcirculation in in vitro laboratory studies. According to noted pathologist and medical professor Dr. Jialiu Liu, jiaogulan’s circulation-enhancing effects result from increased nitric oxide release in the capillaries, which is mediated by bioactive jiaogulan compounds known as gypenoside saponins.

To test the microcirculation-enhancing abilities of jiaogulan in vivo in humans, FreeLife scientists chose to study Jule of the Orient™, a proprietary gypenoside-standardized tonic derived from fullspectrum, whole-plant jiaogulan. In the study, subjects received a single dose of two ounces (60 ml) of Jule, and changes in peripheral circulation in the hands were tracked using an advanced laser Doppler scanner. Statistical analysis showed that Jule significantly increased circulation by as much as 60 percent over baseline level, and that microcirculation was still improved over baseline even six hours after intake.†

Jule of the Orient patent pending and clinically tested tonic is based on jiaogulan, an Asian rainforest herb whose traditional use is backed by more than 300 scientific research papers attesting to profound and diverse health and wellness benefits unprecedented by any plant in nature. Studies on Jule have shown metabolic energy enhancement 16 times greater than ordinary jiaogulan. Ongoing research has also shown significant improvements in microcirculation, which is vital for the proper nutrition of each of the body’s 10 trillion cells.

Taislim Weight Loss Reduces Body Fat Study Shows

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

FreeLife’s Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Haru Amagase was recently invited to present our research at an important obesity conference in Washington, D.C. There, he demonstrated how TAIslim safely and effectively reduces body fat, increases metabolic fat burning, and has a positive impact on blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart rate.
The remarkable weight loss results seen with TAIslim have captured the attention of the international obesity research community.

Taislim chart BMI Body Mass Index losing inches
Study shows shows the positive effects of TAIslim on Body Weight, Waist Size, BMI, and Hip Size.

One controlled human clinical study clearly demonstrated
that a single serving of TAIslim yields a significant increase in
resting metabolic rate compared to 1 serving of coffee, green
tea, or competing products such as 5-Hour Energy*.†

An increase in resting metabolic rate reflects more calories burned, so it is a weight loss aid. Energy drinks can increase the resting metabolic rate, but TAIslim has shown a much more significant impact on energy level/calories burned. TAIslim is based on FreeLife’s original research on the ability of the goji berry to reduce unsightly and dangerous belly fat.†

“These results are very interesting and promising,” remarked Dr. Marie-Pierre St-Onge, noted obesity research expert and Assistant Professor at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital and New York Obesity Research Center at Columbia University. “The rise in energy expenditure with this goji-based product is interesting and suggests a mechanism by which it can assist in weight management.”
