The Mental Pain of Being Overweight, Be a Weight Loss Hero.

The mental pain of being overweight is certainly real. Chances are real good that if you’re reading this you are overweight or know someone who is. For someone who is not over weight it can be hard to sympathize or understand what overweight people go through. Perhaps understanding the pain these overweight people go through will help those of us who aren’t overweight be better able to support those we care about.

Plus to those who are overweight just knowing that there are people out here who care about you gives you something to draw on in the area of support.

I recently spoke with several severely overweight people, the following are some of the mental pains they felt due to being overweight.

  • Overweight individuals said they often felt in public that people stared at them, which made them feel uncomfortable.
  • Overweight people said they often felt ashamed for themselves – that felt their family, spouse and kids were ashamed of them because of their size.
  • People who considered themselves fat said that they don’t fell sexy and even feel ugly to the opposite sex.
  • Overweight women especially lack confidence and have poor self esteem and women especially don’t like their spouse to see them undressed.
  • Then there is the pain of their clothes fitting to tight and the pain especially with overweight women of shopping for clothes.
  • Then of course overweight people have told me they sense people are whispering behind their back, which of course just further damages their low self-esteem.
  • Fat, overweight people obviously tend to overeat, which makes them feel guilty about eating, which tends to depress them, which leads to further over eating and a vicious cycle of gaining weight.
  • Overweight people feel the major discomfort of feeling extra hot and miserable during the summer.

Then there is the pain of potential health issues.
Overweight people tend to worry and stress about their health. They often have low energy and shortness of breath. Certain activities like walking can be a real chore. Overweight people often have pain or discomfort in their joints especially their knees and their back because the extra weight they carry is adding extra stress on the knees and back.

The point is this is not about just about identifying the mental pains associated with being overweight so we can feel sorry for overweight people.

This is about helping those we care about finding a solution for maintaining a healthy weight. This could be in the form of exercise, treadmills, exercise equipment, weight loss supplements or whatever works in a healthy way.

A major factor why people don’t lose weight is lack of exercise and to a lesser degree the wrong types of exercise. For example a brisk walk on a treadmill can cause your body to go into the fat burning state called ketosis better than running.

Muscle mass in also very important in maintaining a healthy weight. This is why purchasing any number of the exercise machines on the market to do light resistance exercises is so effective in losing weight because it helps you add muscle mass. This doesn’t have to be massive amounts of weight, even light resistance amounts of weight can be effective at adding muscle mass contributing to weight loss.

This is why men and women who use an exercise machine in light resistance exercises 2-3 times a week for 15-20 minutes almost always lose weight when they combine this with their weight loss program. This has been our observation over the last 13 years or so.

What is a hero? Can Taking a Nutrition Supplement Like Goji Make You A Hero.

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

What is a hero? – certainly we can say that those fireman and policeman who gave their lives on 9-11 were heroes. They didn’t ask to be heroes but when their time came they acted with valor and determination without regard to their personal cost. In every war there are always outstanding examples of heroism. From Nathan Hale and George Washington in the Revolutionary War to Sergeant York in WWI to Sergeant Benavidez in the Vietnam war. See the following webpage (http://www.psywarrior.com/benavidez.html)

These were extraordinary heroes that sacrificed of themselves to help others. It is in this spirit that I want to recognize the hero spirit that resides in each of us.

I believe that everyday each of us has the ability to perform little heroic acts that may not save lives but can make a difference in the lives of others and even influence a generation. What am I talking about here?

A hero can be the father or even grandfather who spends time playing catch with their son. A hero can be spending a little extra time or simply being there for someone we care about. However, in today’s fast paced world trying to pay the bills we often don’t have the energy to help those around us. Or we simply feel too old or stressed out to matter.

I know we can’t all be a great hero the caliber of those legendary heroes above but if we can just do the little things to help others on a daily basis we can be their hero.

In that spirit I’m going to on a regular basis recognize those individuals our customers that have been a hero in some form or fashion for others.

First I want to recognize Tarah Todd of Michigan a stay at home mom. Simply being a stay at home mom is being a hero in my book especially one with health challenges endeavoring to solve their problems so they can be at their best for their family. In that regard Tarah is a hero in our book. Here is her story.

“Three years ago, I moved to Michigan from the South. My immune system was not up to the task. I caught everything that came around, but my doctor said I would soon adjust and build up immunities. Years later, I still felt completely run down and worn out. When the distress continued into the summer months, I threatened to move back to Florida. After drinking GoChi, I went several months being healthy, whereas before I could not go a few weeks without catching something. I actually had an immune system again! I also found digestive, mood, and rest benefits I didn’t even know I needed. Thank you for this amazing product. It has changed my life!”

Next I want to recognize Shiela Singh of North Carolina. Sheila is a mother and a hero to her 4- year old son who is grateful for the energy to keep up with her 4 year old son. Here is her story.
“After only two weeks of drinking Himalayan Goji Juice, I feel like I have my memory and focus back. I don’t need to write everything down to remember. I also feel like I can keep up with my 4-year-old. Thanks,”

These may not be the type of heroic stories that Hollywood makes a movie about, but to the little 4-year old child their mommy is all the hero they need.

A product shown 1n 3 clinical studies to provide over 19 health benefits in Himalayan GoChi (Goji) Juice. Of course some of the benefits like improved energy, less stress, better sleep, better mood support the hero in each of us.

I’ve been taking GoChi faithfully ever since it was launched earlier this year, and as a new mom I definitely love GoChi because I’ve noticed that it is keeping me healthy and keeping my immune system stronger than ever before. I even noticed that I have clearer skin which is really important to me for my fitness modeling career.
