One of the very best ways to build your internet business today is to make contact and form alliances with other internet marketers.

I believe the marketers that survive and even thrive will be those that have formed alliances and hone their skills learning from other marketers: (After all it doesn’t matter how good your product are in today’s climate better marketing will win the day)

The smart marketer is trying to expand their current business or businesses by expanding their network of influence.

Thus here are some of the best proven techniques for creating alliances and finding the best business prospects.

We’re all basically engaged in the same fun sport of home business and Internet Marketing, trying to not only survive these times but actually excel so we can be of benefit to more people. Recession - no recession - I see unprecedented opportunity in the next several years through home business marketing. With uncertainties in the economy, layoffs and many people in fear for their jobs I see a tremendous surge in interest toward home businesses. Although some types of businesses will do much better than others.

We need to have at least a Plan A and Plan B (even Plan C) with each contact we make so even if Plan A doesn’t work out we can still benefit each other from Plan B.

With any contact always let them know you’re interested in them and would like to learn more about them.

I believe very strongly (from experience) that the alliances and relationships we build with others are the most important aspects of a successful home business. And so one message I try to drill into my people is “Make yourself valuable to someone else.” It’s not just enough to try to build a business by prospecting potential business partners - you must also show them your value proposition and how it can benefit them.

You must focus first on becoming of value to others before they can be of value to you.

Any good business transaction is based on maximum return on investment - mostly in terms of time and resources spent. All good marketing people aren’t just sitting on their duff with nothing to do, so if you approach them and want to influence them, you need to be prepared to show them how they can receive an excellent return on their time and knowledge investment by working with you.

However, I believe it’s vitally important to realize that no matter how good our particular opportunity is not everyone will be interested. So if we can’t get exactly what we want that doesn’t mean we still can’t benefit each other either in one or more of the following ways.

Simple link exchanges
Article exchanges on websites or blogs.
Sharing of referrals
Sharing of marketing ideas and tips.
Creating or refining your marketing value statement. (Essentially
your best pitch for why others may want to work with you in
marketing your product or business)
Exposing your products and business to new people and markets.

I believe I have a home business that rivals or exceeds some of the best products or systems available anywhere.
